The Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Thursday, flagged off the distribution of fertiliser across the forty-four local government areas of the state for the 2026 farming season.
The ceremony took place in Kano where he launched the distribution of 150 trailers of fertiliser to the beneficiaries across the state.
He stated that the provision of fertiliser is one of his campaign promises to the people which he made sure he did annually for the past three years.
However, the governor warned against any possibility of diverting the product to personal use by anybody, while insisting that the government will deal with anyone found guilty.
“In my position as the state governor, I cannot be everywhere to ensure that the distribution of 150 trailers of fertiliser reaches all beneficiaries.
“However, the government will not tolerate any form of corrupt acts of diversion of the product and anyone found culpable will face the consequences,” the governor stated.
He called on the people of the state to pray for successful rainfall that will lead to a bumper harvest.
“We have done well in the last three years and I have fulfilled our campaign promises to the people as far as the distribution of fertiliser is concerned,” he stated.
