The senior special assistant to the President on Public Communication and Citizen Engagement, Abdulazeez Abdulazeez, has commended the Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development in Rigachikun, saying it will equip young people with employable skills and contribute to job creation.
Abdulazeez made the remark during an inspection of the institute established by the Kaduna state government, describing it as a practical investment in youth empowerment that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the institute, which offers training in 14 vocational and technical fields, would produce job-ready graduates capable of creating wealth and reducing unemployment.
“This development is a great achievement for Governor Uba Sani. It is in line with President Tinubu’s call for projects that directly improve the lives of the people through skills acquisition and economic empowerment,” he said.
The presidential aide noted that Kaduna has a rich industrial history and said the institute would help rebuild the state’s skilled workforce while supporting economic growth.
During the visit, he toured departments including Mechatronics, Fashion Design, Welding and ICT, where instructors demonstrated the modern equipment and practical training being provided to trainees.
One of the trainees, Ahmed Hussaini Balarabe, said the institute had given many young people the opportunity to acquire practical skills and become self-reliant rather than depend solely on white-collar jobs.
