JUST IN: FG arraigns two Ansaru commanders, others over Oyo teachers murder

The Federal Government has arraigned two alleged Ansaru commanders and three other suspects before Justice Salim Ibrahim of the Federal High Court in Abuja over terrorism, kidnapping and the murder of two teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The defendants include alleged Ansaru commanders, Abubakar Abba Mahmuda, also known as Abu Bara’a, and Abubakar Abbas, alias Mallam Mahmuda Al-Nigeri, who were arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in August 2025.

The three other defendants were arrested weeks ago during an operation that led to the rescue of kidnapped victims in Oriire Local Government Area and are also accused of being members of the Ansaru terrorist group.

At the court sitting on Wednesday, Justice Ibrahim adjourned the case until September 24 for the commencement of trial and ordered that all five suspects remain in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
