President Bola Tinubu has commended the security agencies in Nigeria, saying they are doing a good job in the rescue of pupils and teachers kidnapped from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Their families and communities were pleased to see their loved ones released after 56 days in captivity.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga confirmed in a statement that the operation was a big success.

The President lauded the efforts of the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force and Department of State Services (DSS) in an intelligence-based operation to rescuethe victims without any loss of life.
He also praised the security agencies for arresting eight of the suspected kidnappers and neutralised others of the gang during the operation.
According to Tinubu, the rescue was a great contribution in the country’s war against kidnapping and violent crimes.

The President, in his celebration of the release of the victims, said he was “saddened” at the death of a mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, allegedly killed in abductions.
He promised Nigerians that the perpetrators of the kidnapping and killings would get their just deserts.
Tinubu also expressed sympathy for pupils, teachers and their families for their ordeal during the 56-day ordeal.
Oyo government commended
The President commended the Oyo State Government for its co-operative efforts with the Federal Government in the rescue operation.
He requested the State Government to step up security around schools to help prevent such incidents in future.
Tinubu also urged the relevant emergency agencies to work with the Oyo State Government to ensure that the rescued pupils and teachers are given medical treatment, counselling and other forms of assistance.
It is recalled that the victims were kidnapped when gunmen attacked three schools in the Oriire Local Government Area before they were rescued on Friday.
