Several of Europe’s biggest football clubs have congratulated Spain after La Roja defeated Argentina 1-0 to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
Spain secured the title after Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time, handing the European nation another World Cup crown in a tightly contested final.
The victory also marked a proud moment for a number of club sides whose players played key roles in Spain’s successful campaign.
Athletic Club celebrated the achievement of Unai Simón, Aymeric Laporte and Nico Williams, while also acknowledging Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente, a former player of the Basque club.
Barcelona highlighted its strong contribution to the national team by congratulating Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Pedri, Pau Cubarsí, Eric Garcia, Gavi and Joan Garcia after they were crowned world champions.
Paris Saint-Germain also honoured midfielder Fabián Ruiz, describing him simply as a world champion following Spain’s triumph.
Manchester City joined the celebrations by sharing an image of Rodri lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy after another successful tournament with the national team.
Real Sociedad praised Mikel Oyarzabal, noting that he became the club’s first active player to win the World Cup while representing the Basque side. The club also highlighted his impressive tournament contributions.
Arsenal congratulated its Spanish representatives, celebrating another World Cup success for players linked with the North London club.
Tottenham Hotspur also marked the occasion by sharing a celebratory post featuring Pedro Porro following Spain’s victory.
Spain’s triumph sparked celebrations across club football, with many European teams proudly recognising the achievements of their players on one of football’s biggest stages. The focus will now gradually shift back to club preparations ahead of the new domestic season.
