The Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over N108 million recovered during an investigation to Greenwich Planet Sun King Nigeria Limited.
The Commission said the funds were recovered in the course of investigating allegations of abuse of office, forgery, stealing and diversion of company funds involving two former employees.
The restitution took place in Lagos yesterday, where EFCC officials presented the recovered funds to the company in bank drafts.
Announcing the development on its X account on Thursday, the anti-graft agency said the handover forms part of its mandate to ensure that victims of financial crimes recover their stolen assets.
“The money, handed over in bank drafts, formed part of the funds recovered by the Commission in the course of an investigation,” the EFCC stated.
The Commission said the recovery reflects its commitment to protecting businesses from financial crimes and ensuring that proceeds of fraud are returned to their rightful owners.
It added that investigations into the case are ongoing, with further legal action expected against those implicated.
The EFCC reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability and the recovery of illicitly acquired assets in line with its anti-corruption mandate.
