Reality TV personality and actress Bisola Aiyeola has revealed why she no longer gets involved in disputes involving her friends and colleagues.
The actress shared the experience during a recent episode of the Dear Ife podcast, explaining that she once felt compelled to defend people close to her without hearing the other side of the story.
According to Bisola, those experiences eventually taught her the importance of setting boundaries in friendships.
Actress says loyalty sometimes backfired
Bisola admitted that she previously took on conflicts that did not directly involve her, often standing by friends and even acquaintances during disagreements.
However, she said her perspective changed after discovering that one person whose quarrel she defended later reconciled with the other party, leaving her isolated.
The experience, she noted, made her realise that not every disagreement requires outside involvement.
She draws the line on relationships with ex-partners
Although she no longer expects friends to take sides in her personal disputes, Bisola said there are situations she considers unacceptable.
She explained that she would find it difficult to remain friends with someone who develops a close relationship with her former fiancé or chooses to date him.
The actress also disclosed that she has ended friendships with men who were romantically involved with her close friends after conflicts arose.
