Argentina have reportedly submitted a special request to FIFA ahead of their highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final against England.
The reigning world champions are said to have requested permission to wear their all-blue strip instead of their traditional blue-and-white home jersey for the crucial knockout fixture.
The report comes as Argentina prepare for one of the biggest matches of the tournament.
Semi-final set after quarter-final victories
Argentina secured their place in the last four with a 3-1 victory over Switzerland in the quarter-finals.
England also advanced after overcoming Norway 2-1 to book a semi-final meeting with Lionel Scaloni’s side.
The clash is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the tournament as both nations chase a place in the World Cup final.
All-blue kit preferred for England match
According to journalist Gastón Edul, Argentina have informed FIFA of their preference to wear the all-blue kit for the encounter.
Throughout the tournament, the South American side have largely played in their iconic blue-and-white striped jersey.
Their only previous departure from that tradition came during the group-stage match against Jordan.
It remains to be seen whether FIFA will approve Argentina’s request before the semi-final.
