The All Support Groups for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, associations committed to the reelection of president Tinubu, has been formed.
The associations are to function under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The founders of the associations said it is part of a volunteer network to unify a coalition dedicated to securing 27 million votes and a decisive mandate for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.
National Coordinator/CEO of the coalition, Hon. Mukhtar Bala Ibrahim, announced this at a press conference in Abuja, Tuesday.
He said the All Support Groups has over 375 different associations and support groups registered under the platform. He listed them to include commodity associations, transportation unions, artisans, traditional leaders and religious leaders, among others.
He said the coalition, which is powered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, has set an ambitious goal which is mobilisation of 27 million votes across the 36 states and the FCT.
“This figure is not arbitrary, it represents a strategic threshold aimed at ensuring an overwhelming and undisputed majority. By targeting 27 million votes, the support groups intend to exceed previous election records, banking on a “bottom-up” approach that focuses on deep rural penetration and urban engagement,” he said
Ibrahim said the coalition’s strategy involves “bringing hundreds of independent support groups under one umbrella to synchronise messaging and avoid the duplication of efforts, establishing coordinators at the polling unit, ward, and local government levels to ensure that the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda is communicated effectively to the common man and establishing coordinators at the polling unit, ward, and local government levels.
He said the coalition, which has entered a phase of intensive mobilisation had recently opened a high-profile coordination office in Garki, Abuja.
