The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has called on members of the church to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying they have both the right and responsibility to participate in choosing the nation’s leaders.
Oyedepo made the call on Sunday while delivering a sermon titled Breaking the Curses of Life during a service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
He urged Christians not to remain passive during elections, insisting that they should play active roles in shaping the future of the country through the ballot.
Church has power to make a difference
Speaking to the congregation, the cleric said the numerical strength of the Living Faith Church places it in a position to influence the outcome of elections if members exercise their voting rights.
According to him, the church has millions of worshippers whose collective participation in elections can have a significant impact.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations.
“We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation and we have a right to participate in who governs us.
“We have a right to determine who rules us. And this church, with the millions that we have, has a say in it. So be part of it,” Oyedepo said.
Call for voter mobilisation
The bishop encouraged eligible members to register to vote and ensure they obtain their PVCs before the next general elections.
He said participating in elections is one of the ways citizens can contribute to good governance and national development, urging believers not to neglect their civic obligations.
Oyedepo maintained that Christians should be actively involved in determining who occupies leadership positions rather than watching political events from the sidelines.
His remarks come as political activities gradually begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The cleric’s message adds to calls by religious and civic leaders encouraging Nigerians to embrace the democratic process by voting and contributing to the country’s future through peaceful participation in elections.
