At Tuesday’s proceedings, prosecution counsel Kehinde Akinlolu drew the court’s attention to Sowore’s absence, noting that the defendant was duly aware of the scheduled hearing. Akinlolu urged the revocation of bail, accusing Sowore of persistent efforts to stall the judicial process.
In his ruling, Justice Umar acknowledged that Sowore had submitted a written application for an adjournment; however, the letter offered no justification for the request. Deeming the absence inexcusable, the judge revoked the bail and adjourned the matter to 22 June for further hearing.
