“She offered to pay in kind” – Uber driver recounts shocking discovery after picking up female passenger in Lagos
A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing a surprising experience from his first days working as an Uber driver.
According to him, the incident happened around the Lekki area of Lagos after he received a ride request from a woman.
Upon arriving at the location, he saw her arguing with a man over money before she entered his vehicle.
Recalling the incident in Vernacular, he said:
“On getting to her location, a guy escorted her out of an apartment. The next minute, they started dragging over money that it wasn’t complete. That was when I realized she was probably a runs girl or so, but then it wasn’t my business.”
The driver claimed that during the trip to the mainland, the woman complained about the amount she was paid.
He also alleged that she offered to settle her transport fare in another way, saying she had done the same with another driver in the car.
However, he said he declined the offer and insisted on receiving his ₦28,000 fare. The biggest shock came when they arrived at her destination.
“I asked the guy, ‘Boss, is this your sister? This your sister fine oo.’ He smiled and replied, ‘You wan collect my wife?’ I said, ‘Ahh, your wife?’”
According to him, the man revealed they had been married for three years and that his wife had only travelled for work. I was in deep shock. Hmm. Women are dangerous oo,” he added.
The story has since generated mixed reactions online, with some questioning its authenticity while others shared their views on trust, relationships, and modern dating.
