The King Salman Centre has distributed 4,399 food baskets to victims of banditry attacks and vulnerable persons in Kebbi state.
The items consist of grains, rice, spaghetti, tomato paste, cooking oil and iodized salt.
On the occasion, the director-general of the National Emergency Relief Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, described the centre as a dependable humanitarian partner to Nigeria in supporting the vulnerable and victims of disasters.
Represented by the director, Special Duties, Fatima Suleiman Qassim, the DG affirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to addressing challenges faced by vulnerable persons and those affected by calamities in Nigeria.
Performing the distribution exercise, Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris, thanked the King Salman Centre in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its consistent benevolence and compassion to the people of Kebbi state.
The governor advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the food items and warned them against selling any of the commodities.
