Nigerian comic actor Fred Ebere, popularly known as Tenkobo, has reacted to an online appeal for financial assistance made by Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
Stella Maris recently sought public support in a video shared online, where she reportedly appealed for help with expenses including house rent and her children’s school fees.
Tenkobo, who described himself as a close associate and family friend of the late actor, criticised the move and questioned the circumstances surrounding the appeal.

Speaking about the situation, Tenkobo said people should not assume Mr Ibu left nothing behind because of the actor’s current challenges.
He claimed the late actor made investments during his lifetime and questioned what happened to some of those assets.
According to him, Mr Ibu worked hard in the entertainment industry and planned for his family’s future.

The actor also claimed that family disagreements affected Mr Ibu during his lifetime.
He said he had spoken with members of the late actor’s family after seeing the viral video and expressed his concerns.
Tenkobo stated that his relationship with Mr Ibu went beyond being colleagues, describing him as someone he had a close personal bond with.
