German footballer, Antonio Rudigger, has signed a one-year contract extension with La Liga side, Real Madrid, ahead of next season.
Rudiger penned the contract, which is expected to run till June 30, 2027, disclosing that his decision to stay with Real Madrid is to help the club achieve more silverware, in a bid to end a two-season trophy drought under the stewardship of newly appointed manager, Jose Mourinho.
”Real Madrid and Antonio Rudiger have agreed to the extension of our player’s contract, who will stay at the club until June 30, 2027,” reads a statement by the Gataticos to confirm the contract extension on Tuesday.
The player’s contract was billed to expire this summer, but Rudiger, who has made over 132 appearances for the European giants since his move from Chelsea in 2022, but the duo have now made the decision to prolong his stay at the club.
His contract extension is sequel to Marc Cuccurella’s switch to the Spanish outfit yesterday, as the side aim to bolster its squad ahead of next season.
Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfried and Bernando Silva have also been lined-up to join the club. The German has since won the UEFA Champions League, La Liga since joining the club.
