On Monday night, a tricycle accident near the Lamingo Golf Club on Haske Road in Jos, Plateau State, resulted in one fatality and three injuries.

Two commercial tricycles, commonly referred to as Keke Napep, were involved in the collision, which happened at approximately 5 p.m.

One of the trike operators tried to avoid a pothole and crashed with an approaching tricycle, according to eyewitnesses, including Mr. Joseph Haruna, who talked online in Jos on Monday.

One passenger was killed at the scene of the incident, according to Haruna, and three others were injured to varied degrees.

“Emergency responders and sympathizers quickly transported the injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he stated.

Speaking under the condition of anonymity, another witness called the occurrence “tragic” and encouraged the appropriate authorities to fix the road’s decaying areas right now.

“Drivers and other road users are at risk due to the potholes along this road.

The witness stated, “Something needs to be done before more lives are lost.”

As commuters and locals gathered at the scene, the collision temporarily caused traffic gridlock throughout the Haske Road corridor.

Route Commander Peter Longsan, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Public Education Officer in Plateau State, promised to gather information on the incident when contacted.

He said, “I’ll get back to you.”

But as of the time this story was filed, he had not yet done so.

The relevant emergency and traffic management organizations have not yet released an official statement regarding the collision as of the time of publication.
