THE Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has dismissed reports alleging divisions within the Obidient Movement, describing them as false and misleading.
POMR said in a statement on Wednesday that the movement remained united and focused on its core objectives.
It said what critics described as disunity was the natural evolution of a citizen-led coalition committed to good governance.
According to the statement, the movement is not a conventional political organisation with a rigid leadership structure.
It said the Obidient Movement is built on shared values championed by its principal, Mr Peter Obi.
The statement listed accountability, economic progress, fairness and competent leadership as the movement’s guiding principles.
POMR said various groups within the movement might adopt different strategies while pursuing the same vision of a better Nigeria.
It noted that the movement’s decentralised structure remained one of its greatest strengths.
According to the statement, the absence of a central leadership bloc prevents undue influence and protects the aspirations of supporters.
“The movement belongs to Nigerians and not a select group of politicians,” it stated.
POMR said there was no disagreement regarding the movement’s commitment to ending transactional politics.
It added that Peter Obi’s principles and approach to governance remained its guiding foundation.
The organisation urged supporters and members of the public to ignore reports suggesting internal crises.
It described such reports as deliberate attempts to distract attention from the movement’s objectives.
POMR reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation and national development.
“The movement remains united, vigilant and focused on building a New Nigeria,” the statement added.
