The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at its retail stations.
The adjustment comes about a week after Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol gantry price, leading to changes across the fuel market.
A market check showed that NNPCL outlets in Abuja and surrounding areas are now selling petrol at N1,260 per litre, compared with the previous price of N1,335 per litre.
The reduction represents a N75 cut per litre.
New price reflects at NNPCL stations
The new petrol price has been introduced at several NNPCL retail outlets, including locations around Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6 (Berger), and Zone 4 in Abuja.
The move is expected to affect motorists as fuel prices continue to adjust following changes in supply and market conditions.
Dangote refinery price reduction triggers market shift
The latest adjustment follows Dangote Refinery’s decision to reduce its petrol gantry price to N1,175 per litre on June 16.
The reduction influenced changes in petrol prices among some fuel retailers across the country.
Earlier reports showed that some filling stations in Abuja were selling petrol within the range of N1,241 and N1,300 per litre.
