Michael Proctor text messages with Sean Goode: New Karen Read lawsuit reveals cops' shocking conversations
Karen Read, the woman tried for the January 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, has filed a lawsuit against the Massachusetts State Police and the Town of Canton on Thursday. She claimed there were a series of obscene and racist texts exchanged between former state trooper Michael Proctor and Canton police officer Sean Goode.
As per the Boston Herald, the lawsuit alleged these messages revealed a ‘culture of bias and corruption that they built, tolerated, and hid from the public’. It was filed in the Bristol Superior Court and seeks unspecified damages.
Read’s attorneys shared numerous alleged texts between Proctor, the lead investigator in the failed murder case against Read related to O’Keefe’s death. Here’s what Michael Proctor’s messages to Sean Goode allegedly said.

In one message, Proctor was allegedly responding to a car accident involving a Black motorist. He told Goode “Actually, take your time, I saw a [n—-r] was involved, so I wouldn’t rush if you’re working. Let them die,” as per the complaint, BREAKING NEWS reported.
In another Proctor allegedly said “America sucks…. Hitler was really on to something …”.

Referring to a Boston Police Department employee, who had done a background check on Proctor earlier and eventually did not hire him, the cop allegedly said “That lady was an absolute [c—t] rag [n—a] who had it in for [me] for some reason.”
As per Read’s attorney, Proctor wrote in one message “It should be ‘punch a [n—-r] day’ in canton today out of retribution. Any shine u see blast it in the face.”
Meanwhile, Goode allegedly referred to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu as a “little [c—t],” and said Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey can “suck my [d–k].” Further, the lawsuit alleged that as per text messages both Proctor and Goode had ‘long-standing and deeply held biases against women.’ The two allegedly repeatedly discussed performing sexual acts on women, sometimes when they were asleep.
They also allegedly referred to women using vulgar terms like ‘pigs’. As per the complaint, Proctor allegedly said in one message he needed ‘a roofie or something’ to find a sexual partner.
Read has claimed in her lawsuit that Massachusetts State Police and Canton Police knew or should have known about Proctor and Goode’s bigotry and still retained officers who displayed clear biases and were unfit to investigate crimes.
Massachusetts State Police Col. Geoffrey Noble issued a statement about Proctor’s alleged messages and said “These disturbing messages are entirely inconsistent with any basic standard of decency and certainly with the expectations of a Massachusetts State Trooper,” as per BREAKING NEWS.
“These racist, sexist and abhorrent comments absolutely do not reflect the values of the Massachusetts State Police and are not tolerated within our ranks. They underscore and fully support my decision to terminate Michael Proctor,” he added.
