Meanwhile, Israel has warned that the recent US-Iran MoU could strengthen Hezbollah and reiterated its security concerns in southern Lebanon.
At the same time, the US Senate voted 50-48 in favour of a war powers resolution directing Trump to end US military involvement in Iran, marking a rare congressional challenge to the president’s foreign policy. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ruled out any negotiations over Iran’s military capabilities, saying the country’s defence and deterrence strength is essential to protecting its sovereignty and will not be discussed under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, Israel has raised concerns that the recent US-Iran memorandum of understanding could strengthen Hezbollah’s position in Lebanon. It reiterated that it would maintain its presence in the security zone in southern Lebanon as long as Hezbollah remains a threat and called on the Lebanese authorities to disarm the group.
