Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has effected a cabinet change relieving all special advisers, advisers, senior special assistants, and special assistants of their appointments.
The decision, which is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration, also affected the deputy chief of staff; and the principal private secretary to the governor.
A terse statement released on Monday by the deputy chief press secretary to the governor, Mashood, AbdulRafiu Agboola, said the governor’s decision was “meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration”.
“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” according to the statement.
The governor directed all the affected appointees to hand over all government’s properties in their custody to the Office of the secretary to the state government.
