United Kingdom Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has criticised Prime Minister Keir Starmer following his announcement that he will step down as leader of the Labour Party.
Starmer announced his decision in a statement outside 10 Downing Street, saying his actions as Labour leader had always been focused on serving the country.
The Prime Minister said he would resign from his position as Labour leader while reflecting on his political journey.
Conservative leader responds
Reacting to the announcement, Badenoch accused Starmer of poor leadership and criticised the direction of the Labour Party under his leadership.
In a statement shared on X, she described Starmer as a “terrible Prime Minister” and argued that the wider issues within Labour go beyond one individual.
Badenoch also criticised Labour’s economic approach, claiming the party’s policies would lead to increased taxes and expanded welfare spending.
