A Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has adjourned the trial of former governor Nasir El-Rufai, who is facing allegations of abuse of office, fraud, and financial misconduct during his tenure.
The case was filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which alleges that funds were improperly released for projects that were either not executed or irregularly handled.
At Monday’s sitting, which began at about 9:30 a.m., El-Rufai appeared in court alongside officials of the ICPC, as well as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police.
The court was expected to continue hearing motions and arguments from both sides but adjourned proceedings to June 28 following the absence of two co-defendants in the case.
