REP. Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC-Zamfara), has earmarked a N50 million grant for development projects in Kuyambana Ward, Dansadau Emirate, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday by the lawmaker’s Chief Spokesperson, Aminu Lawal.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Zubairu represents Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency of Zamfara at the national assembly.
NAN also reports that Kuyambana Ward in Dansadau Emirate is one of the security-prone areas in the state.
Lawal quoted the lawmaker announcing the grant during a stakeholders’ meeting with party executives of the five political wards in Maru South Constituency.
According to the lawmaker, the N50 million grant for the projects in communities under Kuyambana Ward followed his recent visit to the area.
Zubairu said prevailing insecurity in Maru South had denied communities the benefits of development projects.
“The essence of the projects is to ensure equity and fairness in my constituency.
“There is a need to come up with a strategy on how to reach them with projects.
“At the end of the stakeholders’ meeting, a seven-man committee was set-up to design and propose at least three projects in the area with a budget of N50 million,” he said. (NAN)
