STEVE Ukwueni, the President General of Enyimba Football Club supporters has called for massive and sensitive recruitment for the coming 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Ukwueni made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Aba on Monday while reacting to the club performance in the 2025/2026 season.
He said ” We are disappointed with the club performance and I wish to urge my people to take solace in the fact that the club retain its status at last.
“Though Enyimba went through lots of challenges ranging from changing of coaches, welfare and players lack of concentration in matches and others.
“This time around, I wish the management will go all out to recruit experience and energetic players who knows the pride of the club.
“We need players who have tested the league with experience and those who are angry to write their names in gold in the NPFL for the coming season,”he said.
Ukwueni noted that, everybody need to contribute and improve on his commitment to ensure that the club progress in the forthcoming season.
He said that every club starts the season with the ambition of picking continental ticket at the end of the season and Enyimba is not different.
“As for me, Enyimba FC deserved to take one of the continental tickets next season and even win the trophy to crown their effort,”Ukwueni said.
NAN reports that Enyimba finished distance 10 position in NPFL table last season after escaping relegation in the final match of the season.(NAN)
