The Cross River State Government has issued a corrigendum to its recent appointment list after discovering errors in the names and designations of some appointees announced by Governor Bassey Otu.
The government had earlier unveiled a fresh round of appointments into agencies, boards, commissions and advisory positions as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
However, discrepancies were subsequently identified in the list, prompting the government to release a clarification and make the necessary corrections.
The corrections were contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Linus Obogo.
According to the government, Prince Dan was wrongly included in the appointment list, adding that Denis Wogor is the actual appointee.
It also stated that Dr Uffiah was appointed Director-General of the Cross River State Drug Management Agency and not Director-General of the State AIDS Control Agency as earlier announced.
Similarly, Uboh Ekpenyong was wrongly designated as Special Adviser on Coordination in the initial list. The government clarified that her correct designation is Special Adviser on Immigration Matters.
The state government expressed regret over the errors and apologised for any confusion caused by the mix-up.
“The government regrets the errors and any inconvenience caused. We remain committed to accuracy, transparency and professionalism in all official communications,” the statement said.
