Taraba state governor, Agbu Kefas, Monday, said the Nigerian Army remained the critical institution preserving the country’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.
Kefas, who stated this in Jalingo during 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, lauded the Army for its resilience and unwavering commitment to preserving the nation’s unity.
He added that despite the numerous security challenges confronting the country, officers kept sacrificing to safeguard the nation.
He maintained that military service demands discipline, courage, loyalty, endurance, and selfless sacrifice.
“The 2026 NADCEL theme, “Protecting the Nation and Serving the People: A Way Forward for the Nigerian Army,” reflects the importance of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to constitutional order in strengthening the Army’s role in national development” he noted.
He stressed that the Army played key roles in territorial defence, internal security operations, peacekeeping missions, and addressing emerging security challenges.
He hinted that Nigerians must continue to pray for members of the Armed Forces and political leaders.
He encouraging citizens to support security agencies by promoting peace, provide useful information, and foster national unity.
