Army recovers stolen vehicle from hijacker in Abuja

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrester a car snatcher and recovered a stolen vehicle from him in Abuja.

The army apprehended the suspect while he was attempting to move the vehicle after taking possession of it without the owner’s consent, in an act marking another success in combating criminal activities in the country’s capital, with investigations revealing that he fled with the vehicle after a disagreement with the owner.

The arrest carried out at about 11:53am yesterday at the Gwagwalada checkpoint, where the suspect admitted during questioning that he decided to leave with the vehicle and relocate in an apparent attempt to evade detection.

Furthermore, the recovered vehicle and the suspect have been placed in military custody for full investigation.

The source added that the military remains committed to tracking down perpetrators of vehicle theft and related crimes, stressing that ongoing operations are yielding positive results.
