The Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations in New York has announced fresh job opportunities for qualified Nigerian nationals within the UN Secretariat and its affiliated agencies.
The vacancies cut across several departments and duty stations, including Geneva, Nairobi, New York, Paris and Vienna.
The announcement was contained in a notice issued on Monday and signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Jirnmah.
According to the notice, vacancies are available in agencies including the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNESCO.
The Mission stressed that the recruitment process is transparent and free of charge, urging interested applicants to submit their applications directly through the official UN careers portal.
“The Permanent Mission of Nigeria does not charge fees, does not guarantee employment, and applications should be submitted directly through the official UN careers portal,” the notice stated.
It added that the Mission would monitor the application process to ensure fair representation of Nigerian nationals within the UN system.
Prospective applicants were advised to carefully review the eligibility requirements and submit their applications before the various deadlines.
The Mission encouraged qualified Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity, describing it as a chance to contribute to global governance and international development while strengthening Nigeria’s presence within the United Nations.
“Nigerian nationals are encouraged to apply, and the Mission will monitor applications,” the statement added.
