Army arrests fake Major General in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a acclaimed military man who has been accused of impersonating a retired Major General in Kaduna State.

The suspect, who has now been held in military custody pending the outcome of preliminary investigation, was nabbed by troops of the 312 Artillery Regiment deployed at the Strike Force Base following intelligence reports that alerted military troops to the suspect’s activities.

At the scene in the Sabo area on Thursday at about 9:14am, a military source familiar with the operation said that the suspect would be handed over to the appropriate authorities after the completion of initial military procedures to allow for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The army disclosed that efforts were ongoing to uncover the full details of the case and determine whether other individuals may have been involved in the alleged scheme.
