A House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II and immediate past Special Assistant on media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Segun Tomori, on Friday, has said the economic growth of Nigeria has been consequent upon what he called the resilience of Nigerian workers.
In a statement he personally signed, in celebration part of the 2026 Worker’s Day, the HOR aspirant said across all sectors of the economy, (from tech to civil service to entertainment to manufacturing to agriculture), the dynamism of Nigerian workforce has continued to drive growth and boost the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“Today, we celebrate all workers especially those whose quiet sacrifices make our lives better – our vibrant artisans; dutiful cleaners that keep our workplaces and homes conducive; our market men and women who through thick and thin work hard to ensure our tables are never bereft of food. You are our unsung heroes.
“On this day, we must renew our collective commitment as a nation to improving the welfare of workers. As individuals, we must do our utmost to lighten the burden of those around us and endeavour to put a smile on their faces through little acts of kindness.”
To his constituents in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, he said, “I remain firmly committed to supporting owners of Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) with grants and access to federal government initiatives to not only boost their businesses but make their living conditions better, when entrusted with the mandate to serve as Member, House of Representatives.”
Partnering with agencies like CREDiTCorp, he promised to ensure that workers in the constituency have access to the required credit to acquire essential needs that are out of reach.
He said he would rally his colleagues to embark on legislations that would improve the welfare and dignity of Nigerian workers.
“Our best is yet to come as a nation. We must join hands together, as workers, as leaders to harness her potential and exalt national interest above personal or primordial considerations,” he said.
