The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has dismissed claims that the church is aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He specifically said that the RCCG remains politically neutral and open to all Nigerians.
Speaking during the church’s May Holy Ghost Service themed “Excellent Counsel,” Adeboye said members of various political parties worship freely within RCCG, including those from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, APC, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
“Some people say RCCG is an APC church. I just smile. In RCCG, you will find people from different political parties worshipping together. By God’s grace, we represent the whole nation, and that is what we will continue to be,” he said.
He stressed that although politicians are welcome in the church, the altar is not used for political activities, noting that public office holders are not invited to address the congregation during services.
On Nigeria’s political future, Adeboye said leadership outcomes are determined by God, urging citizens to remain prayerful and committed to their responsibilities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Explaining his involvement in past protests, the cleric said he acted in line with directives from the Christian Association of Nigeria.
“That was because the then CAN chairman asked Christians to go out for a peaceful protest. If asked again, I will,” he said.
Adeboye also clarified that he does not see himself as a spiritual father to all Christians in Nigeria, stating that his responsibility is limited to leading RCCG.
He further urged members to avoid political disputes and criticism of fellow believers, assuring them of his continued support and encouraging unity within the church.
