Troopers kill two bandits, get better weapons in Plateau state

Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have killed two bandits in Barkin Ladi native authorities space of Plateau state.

The operation was carried out on Tuesday night close to Doruwa Babuje within the Marit space and the ambush adopted credible intelligence on the motion of armed males.

The suspects have been stated to be linked to assaults, sexual assault and armed theft within the space.

The troops engaged the gunmen in a firefight after laying an ambush. Two of the suspects have been killed throughout the operation. Others escaped into close by bushes.

The troops recovered a domestically fabricated rifle and 5 rounds of seven.62x39mm ammunition. Different objects recovered embody a cutlass, a jackknife and a cell phone.

The army stated troops have maintained presence in Marit and Lajam villages, including that efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The operation is a part of efforts to curb felony actions and defend residents within the space, even because the army urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious actions to safety companies.
