Residents of a neighborhood in Jos, Plateau State, on Friday staged a protest towards troopers stationed at a checkpoint within the space, expressing anger over continued insecurity and alleged killings.
The aggrieved residents, who gathered close to the checkpoint, accused safety operatives of failing to guard them regardless of their presence in the neighborhood.
“Our persons are being killed, they’ll’t do something,” one of many protesters lamented, reflecting the frustration amongst locals.
In line with eyewitnesses, the protest precipitated non permanent stress within the space as residents demanded quick motion to handle the safety state of affairs.
The demonstrators known as on related authorities to urgently intervene and make sure the security of lives and property, stressing that the present state of affairs has left many in concern.
As of the time of submitting this report, safety companies had but to formally reply to the allegations.
