The Educational Employees Union of Secondary Faculties (ASUSS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter has disassociated itself from the indefinite strike declared by the FCT wing of the Nigeria Union of Academics (NUT).
The chairman, Mr Julius Ogundiran, advised journalists in Abuja that ASUSS was not a part of NUT and shouldn’t be concerned within the ongoing strike.
The NUT had Friday, directed major and secondary faculty academics within the FCT to start indefinite strike Monday, over unresolved welfare considerations.
The union said that the choice was as a result of continued silence of the FCT on the reputable calls for of academics.
It recognized a number of the points as non-implementation and fee of 25 per cent and 35 per cent wage increment, and non-implementation and fee of 40 per cent peculiar allowance.
