The Defence Headquarters has positioned troops on nationwide alert forward of the Easter celebrations, assuring Nigerians of tightened safety.
The DHQ additionally reaffirmed that ongoing help from the US is strengthening counter-terrorism operations, with a visual influence anticipated within the coming weeks.
Addressing journalists through the end-of-the-month briefing on Tuesday in Abuja, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Michael Onoja, assured residents of heightened vigilance by troops through the Easter celebrations.
Onoja stated the Armed Forces had already positioned personnel on alert nationwide to stop any safety breach through the vacation interval.

He added that comparable measures had been carried out throughout earlier festive seasons, together with Christmas and Eid-el-Fitr, and can be sustained.
“We all know that festive seasons often have heightened safety actions. The army command offers directions to make sure all personnel are on alert. This time is not going to be completely different,” he stated.
He emphasised that safety businesses wouldn’t calm down regardless of the celebrations, noting that adversaries typically tried to use such intervals.
