Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is basing his 2027 presidential ambition solely on being from the North, then solely voters from the area ought to assist him.
Amaechi made the comment whereas reacting to Atiku’s current feedback, through which the previous Vice President instructed that the North has not been adequately represented in Nigeria’s management.
Talking throughout an interview on Friday, Amaechi cautioned in opposition to using ethnicity and regional sentiment in politics, stressing that management ought to be decided by broader issues past geography.
In accordance with him, “If Atiku Abubakar is saying that the one qualification he has is as a result of he’s from the North, then it implies that on election day, the North will vote for him and the South won’t vote for him. That’s what it means.
