Their response, which works past mourning, displays rising concern over repeated violence in Plateau and what the leaders describe as a troubling sample of assaults on Christian communities in Northern Nigeria, piling stress on safety businesses to indicate they’ll cease the bloodshed.
The place was contained in an announcement by Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, Chairman of the Northern Christian Spiritual Leaders Meeting (NOCRELA), on behalf of the group’s management and members.
“The whole management and members of the Northern Christian Spiritual Leaders Meeting (NOCRELA) categorical deep sorrow, outrage, and heartfelt condemnation over the tragic and mindless killing of harmless residents, on the sacred day of Palm Sunday.
“Palm Sunday is a day that symbolises peace, humility, and the triumph of affection over hatred. It’s subsequently deeply painful and unacceptable that such a holy day was desecrated by acts of violence that led to the lack of valuable human lives,” Archbishop Daniel added.
The group urged safety businesses to behave directly, warning that failure to take action might deepen insecurity.

“NOCRELA strongly condemns this barbaric act and calls on safety businesses to instantly examine the incident, carry the perpetrators to justice, and make sure that such evil doesn’t proceed to stain our land. The lives of Nigerians have to be protected, and no group ought to dwell beneath the shadow of worry.
“We stand in solidarity with the grieving households, the Christian group, all residents of Jos, and the peace-loving individuals of Plateau State throughout this painful second. Our prayers are with the bereaved households, and we ask God to grant them consolation and strengthen their religion at this tough time.
“We name on spiritual leaders, group leaders, and all Nigerians to reject violence, resist the forces that search to divide us, and proceed to uphold the values of peace, tolerance, and unity that our religion teaches,” the clerics mentioned.
They warned towards normalising killings or permitting impunity to take root.
“Nigeria should not develop into a land the place harmless blood is shed with out consequence. The sanctity of human life should stay sacred, and justice should prevail.
“In view of the gravity of this tragedy and the growing assaults on Christian communities in Northern Nigeria, NOCRELA hereby requires an emergency assembly to deliberate on the present safety state of affairs, the safety of Christian communities, and collectively chart a decisive approach ahead,” Archbishop Daniel added.
