Lagos: LSFRS unveils hearth marshal membership

The Lagos State Hearth and Rescue Service (LSFRS) over the weekend inaugurated a Hearth Marshal Membership and led a Security Stroll Initiative (FMCSWI) geared toward strengthening neighborhood participation in hearth prevention and emergency response throughout the state.

The occasion commenced with a security stroll from the Service headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, via Ikeja Hearth Station, and again to the Headquarters through designated routes. The train was designed to intensify public consciousness on hearth security, promote emergency preparedness, and encourage proactive neighborhood engagement in stopping hearth outbreaks.

Talking on the inauguration, the Controller Common of the Service, Margaret Adeseye, disclosed that whereas hearth and associated incidents stay a priority in Lagos State, there was a slight discount in circumstances recorded between 2024 and 2025.

She famous that though hearth outbreaks can’t be utterly eradicated as a consequence of a number of contributing components, they are often considerably lowered via collective duty, strict adherence to security laws, and lively neighborhood involvement.

Based on her, the Hearth Marshal system is a voluntary, community-based service acknowledged globally as an efficient strategy to fireside prevention. She expressed optimism that establishing Hearth Marshal Golf equipment throughout business centres, markets, and residential communities in Lagos state would enormously improve emergency preparedness and response.
