WASTE to Wealth advocate and reputation management expert Dr Jossy Nkwocha has called on investors and the government to deploy Public Private Partnership (PPP) to establish wastes’ recycling plants across the country to turn residue to revenue and eliminate wastes’ pollution.
Dr Nkwocha, MD/CEO of Reputation Masters Limited and immediate past Group Head of Corporate Communications of Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals and Fertilizer Group, Port Harcourt made the call in a keynote presentation on Thursday 5th November 2026 at the 3rd edition of Waste to Wealth Summit and the unveiling of the Nigerian Institute of Regenerative Resources Management and Protection Technologies (NIPRMPT) in Port Harcout.
His lecture, titled “Innovation for Tomorrow: Regenerative Technologies and Sustainable Resource Governance” examined all areas of the subject and made a 9-point recommendation.
Dr Nkwocha recommended that both the Institute and Government should integrate Regenerative practices and principles into National Development.
He explained that regenerative technologies include systems, tools and scientific methods designed to prevent harm, or to repair, restore, or actively renew human tissues, natural ecosystems such as soil, forests, water bodies, environment, wastes, livestock, among others from generation to generation.
Dr Nkwocha identified four areas of regenerative technologies: regenerative medicine, regenerative engineering regenerative environment, and regenerative agriculture.
The keynote address, which was part of the induction ceremony of the Institute’s Fellows and Memners, further made recommendations as follows:
“The institute and relevant governments should create adequate awareness and training about regenerative practices to enhance human health, environmental sustainability, agricultural technology, etc.
“The Institute should carry out extensive research on how to maximise the benefits of regenerative practices in Nigeria.
“The Federal and State governments assist the young Institute to stand strong in this virgin area of regenerative resources management and governance.
Dr Nkwocha also urged federal government agencies to help the Institute to have access to essential inputs and equipment for implementing generative practices.
The other recommendations include;

“Both the Institute and Government agencies should advocate for three integration of regenerative practices and principles into National Development Plans.
“The Institute should contribute its quota in the prevention of further loss of biodiversity and the restoration of degraded ecosystems.
“The Institute should also contribute its quota in promoting sustainable waste management practices and pollution control.”
A high point of the event was the decoration of the Institute’s Chancellor Sir Daminabo Amos Atuboyedia and other board members as Fellows. The decoration was performed by the Chairman of the occasion Prof Andrew Adesola Obafemi of the University of Port Harcout and the Keynote speaker Dr Jossy Nkwocha.
