Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos, where he expressed appreciation for the Federal Government’s support for major development projects in Ogun State.
Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State for the 2027 election, said the meeting took place after the President returned from vacation.
He said he temporarily stepped away from his ongoing consultations and mobilisation activities to meet with Tinubu and discuss issues concerning Ogun State and matters of national interest.
A major focus of the meeting was the Gateway Deep Seaport and the proposed Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, which Adeola said were among the projects for which he appreciated the President’s support.
The senator said the projects were covered by a $7 billion memorandum of understanding and described them as significant components of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic development in Ogun State.
Adeola also said discussions extended beyond Ogun State projects to issues of national importance and the implementation of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The meeting was attended by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, has been undertaking consultations and mobilisation activities across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election. He has also been campaigning for other APC candidates as the party prepares for the elections.
The meeting comes amid increased political activity in Ogun State, with Adeola recently unveiling his development agenda for the state and continuing engagements with political stakeholders and community groups.
Adeola said the engagement with Tinubu provided an opportunity to acknowledge the President’s backing for Ogun projects while discussing broader issues affecting the state and the country.
