Osimhen Returns to Partial Training as Galatasaray Assess Kasımpaşa Comeback

Galatasaray have received a boost ahead of their Turkish Süper Lig clash with Kasımpaşa after Victor Osimhen returned to partial team training.

The Nigeria international, who has been sidelined with a groin injury, joined his teammates for part of Wednesday’s training session at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities under head coach Okan Buruk.

Osimhen participated in the opening stages of the workout before switching to an individual programme prepared by Galatasaray’s medical team as he continues his recovery.

The session featured a dynamic warm-up, 8v2 passing exercises, possession drills and a small-sided game.

Midfielder Mario Lemina and goalkeeper Günay Güvenç completed the full session with the squad, while defenders Wilfried Singo and Roland Sallai continued their rehabilitation programmes separately.

Osimhen’s gradual involvement with the team provides an encouraging sign ahead of Galatasaray’s home fixture against Kasımpaşa at Rams Park on October 9.

However, the club is expected to manage his workload carefully as he works towards full fitness. His availability for the match will depend on his recovery and further assessment by the medical and coaching staff.

The 27-year-old striker could potentially feature against Kasımpaşa as Galatasaray prepare for another major test against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League four days later.

The Turkish champions are scheduled to hold another training session on Wednesday at 5pm as preparations for the Kasımpaşa encounter continue.
