Worried by the recurring challenges in Nigeria’s Hajj operations, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has called for sustained reforms to resolve the age-long challenges

Speaking during a visit to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, the monarch commended the leadership’s dedication to managing large-scale pilgrim logistics while advocating for greater efficiency, transparency, and strategic planning.

Pledging the full backing of the traditional institution, Bamalli highlighted the crucial role traditional leaders play in educating and preparing intending pilgrims for a seamless exercise.

“Hajj is a significant spiritual journey, and the comfort, safety, and well-being of our people while fulfilling this religious obligation must remain paramount,” the Emir said in a statement made available to PerSecondNews on Thursday by Shafii Sani Mohammed, Head, Information and Publication, NAHCON.

“We are here to offer our prayers, counsel, and support to NAHCON. We also urge the commission to sustain its drive toward structural efficiency, early preparations, and transparent communication to overcome recurring operational challenges,” he said.

Responding, NAHCON Chairman Amb. Ismail Abba Yusuf thanked the Emir of Zazzau for his historic visit, calling it a significant boost to staff morale.

Yusuf briefed the monarch on the commission’s latest policy updates, digital innovations, and strategic partnerships designed to lower costs, enhance feeding and lodging, and streamline pilgrim transport.

Assuring the royal father that NAHCON will incorporate his feedback, Yusuf reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to delivering a seamless, world-class Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
