Family, friends and colleagues have laid veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Oludotun Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, to rest at the age of 84.
The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island, where Nollywood stars, colleagues, friends and other well-wishers gathered to honour the late actor.
Jacobs was laid to rest on Friday at This Present House Church in Lekki, Lagos, during a funeral service attended by members of the entertainment industry, family members and other dignitaries.
Among those who paid tribute was entertainment entrepreneur and singer Darey Alade, who performed his hit song, Pray For Me, featuring Jacobs, his wife and veteran actress Joke Silva, and Lagos State First Lady, Claudiana Sanwo-Olu.
Jacobs was widely recognised for his performances on stage and screen, appearing in numerous Nigerian and international productions during a career spanning several decades.
Beyond acting, he also contributed to Nigeria’s film industry as a film executive and earned widespread recognition as one of the country’s prominent entertainment figures.
His burial marks the end of a career that spanned theatre, television and film, with colleagues and admirers remembering him for his contribution to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
