Veteran comic actor, Adewale Elesho, has debunked reports suggesting that the noticeable growth on his face may be cancerous, saying the condition was caused by a ‘mismanaged’ health issue.
Since he appeared at the burial ceremony of late actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo some days back, many people observed the growth on Elesho’s face, prompting concerns about his health.
The development soon sparked speculation, with reports suggesting that the growth could be cancerous, while some medical experts who noticed it urged the veteran actor to seek urgent medical attention.
The speculation continued to make the rounds and generate concern among his fans and members of the entertainment industry.
However, Elesho has now moved to clear the air, assuring the public that he does not have cancer.
In a chat with Per Second News, the veteran actor explained that the growth was the result of a condition that was not properly managed when he first noticed it.
According to Elesho, he initially went to a roadside pharmacy after noticing the growth on his face, but the treatment he received there was not properly administered.
He said he later sought the attention of another medical expert, who took over the treatment and properly managed the condition.
“I don’t have cancer. What people see on my face is a growth, and it was not properly managed. But I can assure my fans that the next time they see me, it won’t be there again,” he said.
Elesho further confirmed that he has now undergone a successful operation to remove the growth from his face.
Expressing confidence in a full recovery, the veteran actor reassured fans that the growth would soon fade.
His statement puts to rest swirling cancer rumours sparked by his recent appearance at Ogogo’s burial.
