THE Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has comprehensively responded to the Auditor-General’s Office query on 2023 expenditure.
The response has since been submitted officially to the Office of the Auditor-General and the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly
All enquiries about NiDCOM’s 2023 audited report should be directed to the Office of the Auditor-General and the Public Accounts Committees of the National Assembly, which have oversight.
NIDCOM has also assured that all questions raised have been addressed with documentary evidence.
For the avoidance of doubt, a query is meant to be responded to, and NiDCOM, like any other responsible government institution, has done exactly that.
An audit observation is not, in itself, a final finding of wrongdoing, NiDCOM said in a release made available to Realnews at the weekend.
“It is, therefore, premature and inappropriate for any organisation to prejudge the Commission’s response or draw conclusions before the relevant facts, records and explanations have been fully considered.
“NiDCOM remains committed to transparency, accountability and due process,” the release said.
