President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as “a loyal and trusted partner” in the administration.
Tinubu noted that Shettima’s loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty had remained invaluable to the administration, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and coordinating economic policies as Chairman of the National Economic Council.
In a statement personally signed by him on Tuesday, the President described Shettima as his brother, trusted ally and valued colleague, while commending his years of service to Borno State and Nigeria.
Tinubu said Shettima’s distinguished banking career and public service record, first as Governor of Borno State and later as Vice-President, had been marked by courage, diligence, compassion and commitment to improving the lives of the people.
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” Tinubu said.
He also commended Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), support for the administration and dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” Tinubu said.
The President said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership as Chairman of the National Economic Council by coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration between the Federal Government and sub-national governments.
He also praised the Vice-President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation, saying these had helped strengthen good governance.
Tinubu thanked Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as they continued to work together to deliver the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians.
He expressed confidence that they would continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of their dreams.
“On behalf of the Federal Government, I again congratulate Vice President Shettima on this milestone, and I pray that Almighty Allah will continue to guide, protect, and strengthen him. May Munificent Allah grant him wisdom and good health, and bless him with many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria,” the president added.
