As parts of measures to avoid leadership vacuum at the Lagos State University (LASU) the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved appointment of Prof. Olawunmi Badejo, as the new Vice-Chancellor for the state-owned tertiary institutions.
Badejo’s appointment came days after Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello retired after the expiration of her five-year tenure as LASU VC.
The new Vice Chancellor’s appointment by the governor was confirmed on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, through a statement made available to The Guild.
According to the statement, “Bsdejo Olawunmi is a Professor of Guidance and Counselling, was born on August 4, 1962.
“She obtained a PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and an M. Ed. (Guidance and Counselling) from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
“Professor Badejo Ayodeji Olawunmi succeeds Professor Ibijoke Olatunji-Bello, who is retiring after the expiration of her five-year tenure”.
