Ondo PDP chieftain joins APC ahead 2027

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ikota, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Ajisafe Fisayo, has resigned his membership of the party and joined the All Progressives Congress.

Fisayo announced his resignation in a letter to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ekanfa Ward, saying his decision followed careful personal consideration and took immediate effect.

The original copy of the letter was endorsed by the ward chairman as having been received and accepted on July 22, 2026.

In the letter, Fisayo requested that his name be removed from the party’s membership register, formally ending his association with the PDP.

He expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership and members for the opportunity to serve during his time in the organisation.

Fisayo also acknowledged the support and cooperation he received from fellow party members, saying the experience gained remained valuable to him.

Despite his departure, he wished the PDP success in its future activities.

His defection adds to the political realignments in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political parties seek to strengthen their grassroots structures and expand their support base.
