The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Lagos State, Laja Adeoye, has vowed to challenge the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 governorship election.
Adeoye made the declaration after a strategic meeting with the party’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates to discuss its preparedness, coordination and campaign strategy ahead of the election.
The meeting, convened by the Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation, was held in Lagos on Tuesday and attended by members of the APM State Executive Committee, candidates and party leaders from the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas.
Speaking after the meeting, Adeoye said the gathering had helped the party resolve some outstanding issues and make key appointments aimed at strengthening its structure and operations ahead of the election.
He described the Lagos chapter of the APM as a united political family and said the party was determined to build the momentum required to compete effectively against the APC.
“APM Lagos remains one strong, united family,” Adeoye said.
He said the party would mobilise support for all its candidates and run a coordinated campaign covering the governorship and National Assembly elections.
“The party is fully committed to delivering massive votes for all our candidates, from top to bottom,” he said.
Adeoye urged party members and supporters to remain focused as preparations intensify, saying the APM would continue to work with its leaders and candidates across the state to achieve its objectives in 2027.
He added that the party’s strength would depend largely on its grassroots structures and the commitment of its members across the LGAs and LCDAs.
